Yes, I know. I already posted a blog this morning. What I didn't mention was that I had my 6-month physical appointment at 10:00 this morning. I so wanted my blood work and blood pressure to be good, and my unspoken goal was to be 10 pounds down from the last time I was there.

Well, I was 10 pounds down, and my BP was 118/81. Blood work was good, though my doc said that the HDL number for women has gone up. Apparently they want it to be over 45 and mine was exactly 45. My LDL was 127, and they want it lower than 130. I'd like to bring the LDL down a bit and increase my HDL some. When I asked him how I could improve my numbers, he said, "Exercise." So there it is. I guess I'm ready to add exercise to my journey. As a matter of fact, Dave and I walked up to our local Walgreens this evening since I need to pick something up, then walked home. It's a start.

My doctor, whom I adore by the way, told me he was as optimistic about my health as he's ever been, and to keep doing what I'm doing. I told him that by the time I come back in 6 months, I'll be down another 40 pounds. New goal. There it is.

Until next time . . .

  2. Thanks. I forgot to mention that he (doctor) also told me that the first "casualties" of my new lifestyle with be eliminating two of my daily meds very soon! Gotta love that.
