Someone posted this on Facebook and it is obviously relevant to those of us who choose to blog. There is truth to the caption, and begs the question, "Why?" Why do so many feel the need to broadcast their thoughts and experiences, their voices and lives to the world? Are we in search of some sort of validation? Are we looking for the approval of our fellow humans? In times past people penned their thoughts to family and friends in letters, which more mindful generations saved for posterity. They wrote books to share themselves with the broader world. Today, we have the technology to make our private worlds public instantly. Have we lost the ability to live quiet lives, solitary live save for the small inner circle of our own worlds? Do we even remember what it's like to exist without our cell phones at the ready? I wonder.
